The Inland Revenue have recently changed the way they assess income for landlords who reside outside of the United Kingdom. Instead of taxing the owner of the property, they now assess the agent who collects the rent in the United Kingdom and insist that the agent deducts tax at source from the rental income, very similar to a PAYE system for rent!

However we provide a free service to obtain an exemption certificate for all of our overseas landlords. We will simply post you the form which requests certain tax information. We then return the form to the Inland Revenue and obtain the necessary tax exemption certificate. You are then entitled to receive your rent without any tax deductions. Simple and a free service.
